If you’re a 7th-grade hoops enthusiast with dreams of dominating the court, listen up. The South Lake Tahoe Bears club basketball team is about to throw down some serious recruitment vibes, and they want you.

More Than Just a Game

This isn’t your average after-school pickup game. The Bears are an AAU-sanctioned club team that’s been making waves across Northern Nevada and California. From Reno to Sacramento, these young athletes are carving out their basketball destiny with tournaments that showcase serious local talent.

The Coaching Lineup

Behind every great team are coaches who live and breathe the sport. Bobby Jaeger, the club’s founder, isn’t just running the show, he’s personally coaching the rising 8th-grade squad. Jason Drew is nurturing the 6th-grade talent, while Walter Morris from Lake Tahoe Community College guides the 7th-grade team. These aren’t just coaches; they’re mentors who’ve dedicated years to youth sports development.

Mark Your Calendar

Tryouts are set for August 13, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Lake Tahoe Community College PE Building Gym. Young athletes looking to showcase their skills should come prepared to play hard and prove they’ve got what it takes. While the current roster is all-boys, the club is actively looking to expand and create opportunities for girls’ teams pending coach availability.

So, young ballers of Tahoe, this is your moment. Grab your sneakers, channel your inner basketball legend, and show the Bears what you’re made of.
