After three long summers of silence, adventure seekers can finally rejoice, D.L. Bliss State Park is making its triumphant return to the Lake Tahoe landscape. Starting May 21, 2026, this beloved park will reopen its gates, promising epic views, pristine beaches, and upgraded infrastructure that’ll make your outdoor experience smoother than ever.

Infrastructure Evolution

This isn’t just any park reopening. California State Parks has dropped a cool $5 million into transforming D.L. Bliss, with substantial support from the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The upgrades are no joke: a brand new 8-inch water main, enhanced fire protection, 25 sparkling fire hydrants, and road improvements that’ll make navigation a breeze.

What This Means for Adventure Lovers

Campers, hikers, and lake enthusiasts, mark your calendars. Booking opens November 21, 2025, on ReserveCalifornia.com, giving you first dibs on spots at Lester Beach and the iconic Rubicon Trail. Day passes will run $10 per vehicle, with park hours from sunrise to sunset.

A Park Reborn

Rich Adams, acting Sierra District superintendent, couldn’t be more stoked: “We can’t wait for you to enjoy this iconic park in the new year”. And honestly? Neither can we. Whether you’re a weekend warrior or a die-hard Tahoe local, D.L. Bliss is about to become your new outdoor playground.
