Hold onto your ski goggles, Tahoe fam, the city just landed a total engineering rockstar to lead our public works scene. Dr. Mohammad Qureshi, aka “Dr. Q”, is about to bring some serious infrastructure magic to South Lake Tahoe.

With a career that reads like an engineering superhero’s resume, Dr. Q isn’t your average bureaucrat. Rocking a doctorate from the University of Tennessee and degrees from UC Berkeley, he’s got more credentials than most of us have lift tickets. His professional journey has zigzagged through counties like Glenn, Monterey, and San Bernardino, where he’s been transforming public infrastructure like a Swiss Army knife of civic improvement.

More Than Just Fancy Titles

This isn’t just another government hire. Dr. Q has legit street cred in the engineering world. He’s been a university professor, a consulting pro, and has served on boards that make major infrastructure decisions. We’re talking about someone who’s evaluated engineering programs nationally and helped shape policy for professional engineers.

What This Means for Tahoe

City Manager Joe Irvin is stoked, and for good reason. Dr. Q brings a track record of building strong teams, solving complex challenges, and delivering innovative solutions. For a community like ours that’s constantly balancing growth, sustainability, and preserving our epic mountain lifestyle, this could be a game-changer.

Starting December 29th, Dr. Q will officially take the helm of South Lake Tahoe’s Public Works. Whether it’s maintaining our roads, managing infrastructure, or ensuring our community runs smoother than a fresh groomer track, he’s got the skills to make it happen.

Welcome to Tahoe, Dr. Q, we can’t wait to see what you’ll build.
