An airport terminal with an airplane outside.

Buckle up, Tahoe adventurers, our local airport is about to get a serious upgrade.

The City of South Lake Tahoe is prepping to transform Lake Tahoe Airport with a comprehensive master plan that could reshape how we fly in and out of our mountain paradise. On Monday, October 20, aviation enthusiasts and local residents can dive deep into the proposed changes during a public workshop from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the airport itself.

What’s on the Runway?

This isn’t just another bureaucratic blueprint. The proposed airport master plan encompasses both airside and landside improvements that could significantly impact how we experience air travel in our alpine playground. Airside updates will focus on aircraft movement areas, including runway and taxiway systems, while landside enhancements target everything from aircraft storage to terminal facilities.
