Hold onto your ski boots, Tahoe fam, Homewood Mountain Resort is rising from the ashes like a snow phoenix! After being dormant for the 2024/25 season, this beloved West Shore gem is set to welcome shredders back to its slopes next winter.

The resort’s journey hasn’t been a smooth groomer. A financial partner bail-out and years of legal limbo threatened to permanently close the mountain. But thanks to some serious persistence from JMA and a recent Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) approval, Homewood is staging a comeback that’ll make powder hounds cheer.

A New Era for Local Skiing

This isn’t just about reopening, it’s about preserving Tahoe’s local ski culture. The new master plan guarantees access for locals, with a range of pass options that’ll make everyone from weekend warriors to West Shore residents stoked. Expect Unlimited Access, Value Pass, Weekly 2-Day, and a True Local Pass that screams “we see you, community”.

What’s Coming Down the Mountain

While the much-anticipated gondola won’t be installed before next winter, Homewood isn’t sitting idle. They’re strategically preparing for a multi-year project that’ll eventually replace the Madden Chair, promising better mountain access during those tricky early and late season weeks.

The resort’s partnership with Discovery Land Company hints at some seriously cool future developments. The modified master plan includes architectural tweaks, reduced housing density, and plans to enhance those killer mountain views we all live for.

Ticket Details

Mark your calendars: Season passes go on sale April 14th. Special perks include daily lift ticket discounts for Lake Tahoe Basin first responders, teachers, and military, plus four free days for local honor roll students.
